The damage is not extensive. Still not sure this part will fit your car. One piston has some damage from pre-detonation or pinging.

Guaranteed good working condition. Reference to driver/passenger side is for left hand drive cars, so RHD vehicles UK/Japan/Australia, etc. Please reverse the indicated. Otherwise, the pistons have some carbon staining, but no serious buildup or other damage. The connecting rods are healthy.

The worst of the damage feels rough and wavy to my passing fingernail. ITEM: piston/rod set of 6, 156k. See the photo below for illustration. These are used original BMW parts.
